Kolekcja Dare Your Dreams - Casablanca N°11

After 10 collections dedicated to the European continent, Balsan decided to cross the Mediterranean to give free rein to third-year graphic design students from the Fine Arts School in Casablanca (ESBAC). 17 talented young Moroccan artists thus illustrated many of their country’s cultural traditions through their designs. Weaving is a crowning glory of Moroccan craftsmanship, and this is amply demonstrated by these projects designed for Balsan.

The ‘DARE YOUR DREAMS’ project that Balsan proposed to ESBAC was a real opportunity and chance for us – the school’s management and the teaching staff in the graphic and digital design department – to use a reallife project to test and evaluate the skills of our students in terms of their visual art and graphic design expertise and, above in, in terms of their mastery of digital design. Around twenty third-year students took part in a workshop focused on designing patterns and ornamentations for carpet decoration and structuring, led by designer/instructor Abderrazzak Dounnajah with support from Balsan’s designer Stéphanie Bourgeois, under the supervision of SEMEA manager Matteo Montani.

The Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Casablanca (Fine Arts School in Casablanca) is a hotbed of exploration and creativity.
